Jan's career in residential and commercial construction with major builders in Austin, Houston, and Newport Beach and as a partner in Central City Builders led him to open Critical Eye home inspections. With Jan's many years of building expertise he felt that expertise could help home buyers make sound decisions when buying a home. With his many years of field experience, continuing education, and thousands of inspections,Jan is always keeping up with code changes, new techniques in energy conservation in existing homes, and new building techniques. Jan has also spent years teaching weatherization techniques and inspecting in Texas, New Mexico, Georgia, and Kentucky. When Jan is not inspecting,performing audits, or teaching he will be in the classroom learning the latest techniques in home inspections, and home weatherization.
